On Jan. 8, 2003 China United Coalbed Methane Co., Ltd. and Greka Energy International B. V of the United States signed product-sharing contracts in Beijing on the joint development of coalbed methane resources in Shanxi and Anhui.
China United Coalbed Methane Co., Ltd. is a state-owned company fully owned by PetroChina. It is the only company in China specialized in the exploration, development, production, utilization, transportation and marketing of coalbed methane and also owns the exclusive right to the foreign cooperation of coalbed methane.
