The state is joining six others in challenging California's milk pricing law in a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.
State officials say that California's milk subsidy system forces out-of-state producers who sell milk to California milk processors to do so at a price disadvantage compared to California producers. At the same time, California discourages fluid milk processors there from buying milk from producers outside that state.
