Anchorage School District in Anchorage, Alaska, is the state winner of The Civic Star Award for a business partnership program begun in 1991.
The program started as a collaborative project between the school district and the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce. School Business Partnerships, Inc. has since fostered more than 575 relationships among the school district, business members of the chamber and local non-profit organizations.
