Hardware manufacturers are reporting that back to school sales were relatively steady, better than might have been expected in light of the budget woes now facing most school districts. But there is more uncertainty about what the future holds in light of No Child Left Behind. New areas of opportunity are emerging however, some propelled by NCLB requirements. Schools appear to be more open to exploring ways to achieve greater efficiencies or economies by outsourcing some or, in limited cases, all of their IT functions.
