Article: Utilities sparking high-tech trend. (News Bytes).

The nation's water, gas, and electric utilities are continuing down the high-tech road of incorporating geospatial software and services into their management and operational networks.

Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. (www.osmose.com) has started a Data Services unit to assist electric, telecommunications, and gas utilities with operational efficiency and system reliability. The unit will provide current asset information through such advanced software as GIS, engineering analysis, outage management, and other utility systems. The operation combines the resources of Osmose and Coherent Networks Inc. (www.coherentnetworks.com), which Osmose acquired in 2002.
