NEW YORK -- The demographic trend that is driving sales of prescription drugs, namely the aging of baby boomers, is also having a positive effect on demand for homeopathic remedies.
Consumers who came of age in the 1960s and 1970s, when suspicion of mainstream practices--health-related and otherwise--was widespread, are more open to alternative medicine and accepting of homeopathy than earlier generations were.
Today many of those consumers are turning to homeopathic remedies to treat themselves and their families.
