Mar. 5--Some Odessa veterinarians are scratching their heads over a change in the state's rabies vaccination requirements for dogs and cats.
Beginning March 19, rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats will be required every three years instead of annually. However, the city of Odessa's yearly rabies vaccination requirement will not change, said City Attorney Joel Roberts. In this case, city ordinance supercedes state law.
