EACH SPRING, as sunny days begin to warm house windows, ladybugs come out of dormancy and decorate the window frames like living stained glass. What is going on here?
These charming critters are Korean ladybugs that don't know how to find their natural homes; so when winter draws near, they use yours. Their extended sleepover does no harm to your home and the little bugs are not baddies but excellent protection against many garden pests.
The trick is transferring them from your walls and windows to the garden. This is really not very difficult. Sleepy ladybugs are very easy to collect with a brush and dustpan. ...
