The Brazilian mining company MBR (Mineracoes Brasileiras Reunidas), the second largest producer and exporter of iron ore in Brazil and 5th largest of the world, has showed the best sales performance of its history: 33.3 mil m tons, an increase of 18,6% compared to 2001. The increase of 21% on exports and of 6,9% on domestic sales also contributed for the record. The company gross earning boosted 45% compared to 2001, reaching R$1.432bil against R$990.6mil posted in the previous year. The exports income (in US dollar) was responsible for 91% of MBR' turnover.
