Real estate industry in throes of major recession
With fears of a continued credit crunch and perceived weak political leadership, San Diego real estate and construction executives predict tough times in 1991.
Overall, 52 percent of 146 real estate respondents to the Deloitte & Touche and San Diego Business Journal Economic Outlook 1991 Survey said the local economy will worsen in 1991. Another 9 percent predicted it will get much worse.
Seventy percent of the respondents said the San Diego economy in general is in a recession, while 77 percent said the real estate and construction industry is in a recession.
