Such melodies poured in my ear,
I was dumbstruck, mere stone
in the tongue of your ceaseless river,
weightless on the gravel bed.
Your singing went on, unidentified
riffs of psalms, marching songs,
lullabies, recognize yourself
which tree is mine.
Years in those hours I loved
