Mar. 10--The government should make Thailand a centre for orchid production and exports in Asia to strengthen the competitiveness of Thai orchids, says the National Economic and Social Advisory Council.
The council recently urged the government to establish a central orchid trading market for domestic and international trade of the flowers.
Kittisak Lukanatinawong, a deputy-secretary of the agriculture committee, said that as a one-stop centre, the market would make it more convenient for sellers, buyers and exporters to do their businesses.
