Mar. 11--About 150 jobs are being phased out of the life insurance unit of State Farm Insurance Co.'s Bakersfield office, the company announced Monday.
The news comes not long after other recently finalized consolidation plans netted 325 new positions for the local office over the next year or so.
The life-insurance workers will be offered relocation packages and some could start moving out of state in three to four months, said local spokeswoman Cece Shanyfelt. The positions include some upper-level managers with the majority of the losses among ...
