Nearly seven out of eight Denver cops have moonlighted at some point in the past four years, racking up more than 210,000 shifts in side jobs at banks, nightclubs and sports stadiums.
The most prolific of the officers has worked an average of five extra-duty shifts a week since Jan. 1, 1999, according to city records. And nearly a quarter of the department's 1,492 sworn officers have worked an average of at least one extra-duty shift a week over that period.
