Despite the effectiveness of Patriot air defense systems at intercepting Iraqi SCUD missiles, some observers are saying the low altitude at which Patriots are intercepting those systems would not prevent nuclear, biological or chemical (NBC) tipped SCUDs from delivering their warheads dangerously close to their intended targets.
One piece of news footage last week purported to show a Patriot missile intercepting a SCUD low over Dhahran.
