Mar. 12--Connecticut's technological know-how and the productivity of its manufacturers remain among the best in the nation, but the state can still do more to improve its infrastructure and lower the cost of doing business, according to a newly released study.

The 2003 Manufacturing Alliance of Connecticut's Competitiveness Index ranked Connecticut 35th of the 50 states -- up eight spots from last year's report and up 14 from two years ago -- when comparing costs of doing business.
