Mar. 12--A number of residents along the Ashley River in North Charleston are celebrating their newest proposed neighbor -- an 86-unit luxury condominium complex near the intersection of Interstate 526 and Leeds Avenue.
The 33-acre wooded site was formerly a hotbed of contention for many in the neighboring Wando Woods subdivision after an out-of-state boat manufacturing company tried to put in a small marina and showroom, a move residents feared would spoil the river's serenity.
