Forget whether authentic Irish cuisine ever did or still does include corned beef and cabbage.
That combination may be a culinary cliche and a ridiculous simplification of the Irish-American dietary preference, but corned beef certainly can be a delicious dinner, cliche or not, for the evening meal on March 17, St. Patrick's Day.
