MUNICH, March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The BMW Group continued to develop successfully in 2002. The profit before tax (group profit from ordinary activities) reached a new high of euro 3,297 million, a 1.7% improvement over the previous year (2001: euro 3,242 million). The net profit for the year increased by 8.3% to euro 2,020 million (2001: euro 1,866 million) and surpassed the euro 2,000 million mark for the first time ever.
