Article: Feeling the strain. (Focus on OSB: Outside North America).

European producers of OSB were in total agreement on one aspect of their business this time last year and, sad to say, they still are. Prices are still far too low, as they were at the time of our survey in Feb/March 2001.

Around July to September 2002, most European manufacturers introduced much-needed price increases across their product range. However, by the end of 2002, prices had generally sunk back to levels little higher than they were at its beginning.

Some specialist products were able to hang on to a price rise, but the bulk markets of OSB2 and OSB3 grade boards were still too over supplied for increases to stick.
