CSU: Average nominal wage growth slows to just under 7 % in 4Q

Prague. March 12. INTERFAX EUROPE - Average nominal Czech wages rose 6.8 % yr/yr in 4Q 2002, according to the Czech Statistical Office.

During the monitored period, inflation and real wages grew 0.5 % and 6.30 % respectively.

Wages developed differently in the public and private sectors, says the CSU. Nominal and real wages in the public sector rose 10.4 % (by CZK 1,580) and 9.9 % respectively. Private sector average wages rose 5.9 % (by CZK 976), while real wages rose 5.4 %.
