Mar. 14--SBC Wisconsin on Thursday submitted more than 60 letters to state regulators from local government officials and civic leaders who said they backed the company's bid to sell long-distance telephone service.
Milwaukee Mayor John O. Norquist, Green Bay Mayor Paul F. Jadin, Tim Sheehy, president of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, and Richard Schlimm, executive director of the Wisconsin Community Action Program Association, were among those submitting letters to SBC.
