Matrix producer Joel Silver tapped into an audience hungry for more martial arts mayhem with Jet Li and sultry songstress Aaliyah. The latter more than matched Li in the brains and brawn department, playing the daughter of a gang boss who takes on Li's rival family and finds her loyalties severely tested.
BEST SCENE: Han Sing (Li) uses Trish's (Aaliyah) lithe body as a whirling, wonderful weapon against one of the bad girls, after saying to Trish, "I can't hit a woman", and she replies, "But I can".
