Experience Music Project plans to replace its closed Artist's Journey ride with a new, multilevel exhibit space.
The interactive museum is seeking permits from the city of Seattle for a $3 million project that would add a third floor and possibly a mezzanine inside the building's southern wing. The Artist's Journey multimedia attraction, which closed in January, had occupied that space since EMP's June 2000 debut.
The conversion of the area will be the biggest change at the rock 'n' roll museum, the brainchild of Microsoft Corp. co-founder Paul Allen, since it opened. EMP officials said the project reflects ...
