Mar. 18--Thailand's economy is unlikely to achieve the 6 percent growth target expected by Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, according to the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB).
"There is little opportunity to manage the economy to ensure 6 percent growth this year, unless there is massive capital inflow from overseas," said NESDB secretary-general Chakramon Phasukvanich.
He said exports and government spending were expected to slow this year while confidence in investment and tourism could be affected by a war in Iraq and its aftermath.
