Brad Vorburger went to prison last year and confronted his demons.
Diagnosed with a mental illness called bipolar disorder, the Madison resident received counseling and medication while serving a sentence at Oakhill Correctional Institution in Oregon.
Released in mid-December, the 28-year-old now finds himself on a seemingly endless waiting list to continue treatment.
"What am I supposed to do?" Vorburger said. "To get help, you would have to go off your meds, freak out, and then when you've hit that bottom point, then maybe they'll see you."
