FOUR bids, including two offering unconventional technology, have been submitted for a design, build, operate, and maintain (DBOM) contract for the first 145km segment of the proposed state-wide high-speed rail network in Florida.

The line will run between Tampa and Orlando with alternative routes in the Orlando area. One would provide a non-stop link between Orlando international airport and Wait Disney World. The other would have an intermediate stop at the Orange County Convention Center. Both would then go on to the Tampa Bay area.
