TRADITIONALLY they are found in forests and glades, grazing serenely on the woodland greenery.
But now deer are venturing boldly into the gritty urban landscape of towns and cities.
Roe deer and muntjac are being spotted in increasing numbers in urban parks and gardens.
And like the fox, they are showing great skill at adapting to city life.
They have been seen nibbling rose beds, munching fruit from apple trees and even foraging on motorway verges.
All six species of deer in Britain, once threatened by shrinking woodland and grassland habitat, are believed to be increasing in numbers.
