PEARL Pope gave birth to her daughter Heather when she was just 23 weeks pregnant. Throughout labour she was told: "It is not a viable baby."
Heather wasn't breathing when she was born on July 18, 2002, weighing 1lb 4oz (585g), but against all the odds - babies born this young have a one-in-six chance of survival - she pulled through.
She spent 18 weeks in hospital before going home to Blackburn, Lancs, with mum Pearl, dad Glynn, and eight-year-old brother Nathaniel. Heather is now a bubbly eight-month-old.
