Rod Strickland entered the game with 3 minutes, 8 seconds left in the first quarter, his first action after missing 24 games and seven weeks because of a groin pull injury.
He hobbled off at 10:38 of the second quarter, a scoreless five-minute stint in the boxscore that ended when Strickland went up for a layup and felt a painful, familiar pull.
Strickland, 36, spent the rest of the game with a heat pack in his lap. Coach Flip Saunders said the veteran guard could have subbed back in, if needed, but Strickland's gait and face afterward raised some doubts about that.
