THE 1896 Revolution was the capstone to the Filipino struggle for freedom. It gave birth to the first republic and the first free people in colonial Asia.

The road to freedom of the Filipino people is decorated by the names of innumerable men and women who did not hesitate to sacrifice their lives for the sake of the Motherland. President Emilio F. Aguinaldo stands prominently among these men and women.

"El Brazo de la Providencia" (the Instrument of Divine Providence) and "Libertador Del Pueblo Filipino" (Liberator of the Filipino Nation) were some of the lofty names our former colonial rulers accorded to President Aguinaldo.
