GORDON STRACHAN made referee Graham Barber blush but it was Villa striker Peter Crouch who left St Mary's Stadium red-faced last night.
Never-say-die Saints hit back from two goals down in a repeat of last week's draw at Fulham.
But Strachan thought a decision from referee Barber could have knocked his side's second-half comeback off the rails.
At 2-1, it looked as though Saints striker James Beattie had been felled by former Manchester United defender Ronny Johnsen but Barber waved away the penalty appeals.
