PHOENIX - Dusty Baker managing the Chicago Cubs offers a measure of comfort to Bostonians in that it offers proof the Red Sox aren't the only club whose front office mistakes have often leveled the franchise.
Before a Cubs-Oakland game last month, Baker looked more like a visiting dignitary than baseball manager as every A's coach and veteran made a beeline toward the visiting dugout at Phoenix Municipal Stadium to pay him homage.
