Ben Franklin would be amused by the evolution of kites.

Kites today come in assorted shapes and sizes and costs range from a couple of bucks to several hundred dollars; they are flown as a popular pastime and as a competitive sport.

Made of a variety of materials ranging from nylon, paper, Mylar and, for the budget conscious, plastic bags, some kites even sing as they sail, equipped with whistles to emit musical sounds as the winds blows through them.
