Mar. 23--The popularity of Art Deco is about to hit new highs with an exhibition that opens at the Victoria & Albert Museum on Thursday.
The design style swept the world following the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs & Industriels Modernes in Paris. It marked not only a phenomenal change in fashion, but also provided the era with a generic name u Art Deco.
Auction houses have long recognised the popularity of Art Deco, but any major show, such as the forthcoming Art Deco 1910-1939 Exhibition at the V&A, has a knock-on effect.
