Mar. 25--K2 Inc. has worked out a deal to take control of Rawlings Sporting Goods Inc.'s licensing agreement with Major League Baseball, eliminating a final hurdle for K2's proposed $74 million acquisition of Rawlings.
MLB agreed to extend its agreement with Rawlings for an additional three years to 2008, according to K2, which is based in Carlsbad and makes sporting goods and apparel.
The all-stock deal for K2 to acquire Rawlings will be voted on by both companies' shareholders tomorrow and is expected to be approved.
