According to "Jordan Times", a new law regulating sales, clearances and special offers will take effect in the coming few days within the drive of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) to systematize seasonal discounts. The law was published in the Official Gazette but must also be published in two Arabic dailies to become effective. "The Sale, Clearance and Prizes Law Number (1)" for the year 2003 stipulates that any individual wishing to hold a clearance sale must follow the necessary legal steps at the companies' directorate, obtain approval from the MIT before advertising the clearance - which should be done in a visible manner on the shop window - and declare the ...
