Mar. 22--The mayor's anti-blight fight hit another speed bump on the road to neighborhood transformation this week when community activists blocked a demolition site in Mantua.
The protest forced New Jersey-based Red Ball Demolition and its Philadelphia subcontractors to stop work on the $2 million contract to raze 110 buildings.
The protesters are demanding jobs and more input into the planning process for developments in their West Philadelphia neighborhood.
