MINNEAPOLIS -- Dick Bennett, who led the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team to the Final Four in 2000, has emerged as the leading candidate to become the coach at Washington State.
Bennett was in Spokane, Wash., last weekend and watched the Badgers defeat Tulsa in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Washington State, located in Pullman, Wash., was the host school for the first two rounds played at the Spokane Arena.
While there, Bennett reportedly met with Washington State athletic director Jim Sterk and other school officials about the job. The position has been vacant since March10, ...
