Unilever has announced an aggressive new plan to increase its share of the global ice cream market, beginning with a commitment of [euro]150 million ($162 million) to marketing and development over the next three years. Among the specific steps cited by Unilever will be changing the look of several of its European brands, including Magnum, Cornetto and Solero; opening more than 90 branded ice cream bars across Europe over the course of this year; and expanding its flavor range to include off-beat varieties such as curry and cheese.
