Article: 2002 MIA Pinnacle Award winners announced: the Marble Institute of America recently honored several residential and commercial designs, which demonstrated a unique use of natural stone as well as superior craftsmanship.

Each year, the Marble Institute of America (MIA) recognizes MIA-member stone suppliers, fabricators and installers for their outstanding work on natural stone projects. These projects, which include both residential and commercial designs, are honored for their beauty, creativity, ingenuity and craftsmanship.

To be eligible for the Pinnacle Awards, the project teams had to include at least one MIA member company, and the projects had to be completed within the past three years. An independent panel of judges appointed by the MIA Board of Directors evaluated entries based on excellence in design and implementation, quality workmanship and suitability of materials. ...
