GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- An orthopaedic surgeon at the Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus has become the first in Michigan to use a new, minimally invasive approach to hip replacement surgery that allows patients to rehabilitate much faster and with less pain. Thomas Malvitz, M.D. with Orthopaedic Associates of Grand Rapids, P.C. performed the first two cases March 15. He is one of the first groups of orthopaedic surgeons nationwide to be trained to perform the new procedure.
