Although faced with many uncertain factors and great market pressures in internal and external macro economic environments, the vinyl acetate sector in China showed an undulating rise in 2002. The price of vinyl acetate in 2001 dropped all the way from RMB8 700 per ton in January to RMB6 800 per ton at the end of the year.
