ABOARD THE CAPE ST. GEORGE -- The visiting Catholic priest celebrated his first Mass on Wednesday, the dentist arrived to repair his first crown and the roving college instructor . . . well, they're still waiting for him.
Wartime places hardships on all who are deployed, but the 397 sailors aboard this Norfolk-based cruiser face some special challenges as part of the ``surge'' battle group that deployed on a moment's notice.
``No one has a clue how hard it's been,'' said Capt. Nevin Carr, the Cape St. George's commanding officer.
