Mar. 27--It all started, perhaps, with purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain.
Katharine Lee Bates' stirring anthem, "America the Beautiful," immortalized the Pikes Peak area and brought it attention from around the country. So maybe it's her fault.
Or else there's something funky in the water.
