The unprecedented success of GlaxoSmithKline's Advair (fluticasone plus salmeterol), the first drug to combine a bronchodilator with a corticosteroid in the same inhaler device, has changed the US market landscape for asthma therapies, says a new report from Frost & Sullivan, which adds that sales of drug treatments for asthma could grow from $4.23 billion in 2002 to $5.52 billion in 2009.
