Mar. 28--US Airways said Thursday it will suspend some transatlantic and domestic flights, including some in Myrtle Beach, as a result of the war in Iraq.

The airline's 4 percent reduction in departures includes the loss of several weekly flights between Myrtle Beach International Airport and Charlotte, N.C.

US Airways, which was the busiest carrier in Myrtle Beach last month with more than 11,000 boarding passengers, said cutbacks have been made to off-peak travel days that traditionally have lower demand.
