Globus pays EUR 5 million for Elsner, plans to expand on Russian market

Budapest. March 28. INTERFAX-EUROPE - Hungarian canned food maker Globus Rt paid EUR 5.05 million for Poland's second largest frozen food company Elsner, chairman Istvan Temesfoi said on Friday, according to MTI.

Elsner, which has four factories in Poland, was owned by F.J. Elsner & Co. GmbH, a subsidiary of Raiffeisen Zentralbank Osterreich AG. Temesfoi said that the primary objective of the acquisition was to ensure Globus's further expansion, especially on the Russian market.
