Healthier products are nothing new. Manufacturers have provided them for years. Operators have tried them in response to customer requests, but have found they don't sell. Most operators still don't think they'll sell any better, despite the current furor over obesity. Manufacturers, meanwhile, are trying to come out with more products with reduced fat to meet the new nutrition standards that a lot of states are contemplating for public schools.
Manufacturers believe they are making headway in providing products that are better for you but also taste good.
