A SMALL shrine in a far corner of the royal chapel of St George in Windsor Castle is the only reminder of the lost crown jewels of Wales.
Just to the right of the East Window and behind the High Altar, visitors are invited to light a candle and say a prayer at the spot where the golden Croes Naid, the most treasured possession of the Princes of Gwynedd, once stood. Archivists fear it has been lost forever.
